Dinner and dancing and football - this is the life

Last night I finally took advantage of the generous monetary apology offered by an attorney whose incorrect instructions required me to do a large project twice. Quite simply, Smith and Wollensky's makes a damn good side of beef and I'm glad I got to share the meal with friends.

Next up, dinner with un de mes soeurs and then rocking out to Lifespeed tomorrow and Saturday night, the cover band proclaimed to be amazing by my beloved roommate who usually has great taste in music (ie BSB) as well as many other entertainment things...

Also, there will be catching up on tv thanks to Stephanie/Rose/Ben's DVR on the HD TV that I am glad Ben bought... Friday Night Lights, The Office, Dirt and DEXTER (sexy serial killer who "controls" his sociopathy, sort of)...

Sunday - Football! Perhaps a trip home bc I've been feeling a lil homesick lately...

Oh, and Victoria's Secret is having their semi-annual sale - GO! Buy cute underwear! Even if it doesn't match your bra...

If you'll be around this weekend, please come to Ned Devine's to rock... call me!

Celtics game = nood looking - fortunately ot a complete loss

My cousin sent me a text message this morning asking if I wanted his tickets to the game (he shares season tickets - $10/seat) with my dad. I called Francesca (we love that we can walk there in ten minutes or so from our apartment) and I headed home after Friday Festivities/meeting up with some people at McFadden's for a few minutes... rushed home and changed and we headed out to the game. And when we came up one of the escalators we were greeted by the fine sight of Marines in dress uniform as well as at least one guy from the Army, all collecting toys for Toys for Tots - excellent view and we weren't even at our seats! :) Anyway, Francesca mentioned that a friend from work was going to be there and he called during the first half to find out where we were. Then he and his friend came by (Helllloooo boys...mmm, mmm, mmm and it was perfect - one for me, one for Cesca (and we were attracted to different ones)...)... and they invited us to their BOX SEATS (one of them works for a radio station that has a box)... fabulous - free beer, free food, and free gazing at hot guys (including Wally who was beautiful in a suit and his ankle cast)... pretty sweet! And then Cesca got the great idea to buy supplies for s'mores and we have skewers my fondue set so it is fabulous... a good Friday night... hope yours is just as wonderful, if not better!

Friday Night Lights - I have to write this down so I don't forget

Oh my gosh - Matt Saracen! Pretending to be his grandfather so he can calm his grandmother, singing their song, "Oh Mr. Sandman..." Wow. That has to be one of the best tv moments I have ever seen. And I watch a lot of tv. "Sweet and vulnerable". He is amazing.

Yay

There's nothing like getting flirted with by the cute security guard at the Suffolk County Courthouse to perk me up on this fine rainy Wednesday morning...

Because everyone's doing it...

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

The West
Boston
The Midland
Philadelphia
The Inland North
The Northeast
The South

I got about equal parts Boston and West... I'm going to attribute it to the linguistic influences of Brittany, Leigh, Sena, and perhaps my Illinois family that I see maybe once a year if I am lucky...

T.V. couples make me smile...

"You knock my socks off."

Weekend Update

Friday night - bonding with some Wellesley women including dinner at Friendly's (free soda re-fills and free sundaes) followed by some shopping and "Akeelah and the Bee" (very cute movie). . .

Saturday - Quality time with Cesca - pampering at Hair West in the form of a much-needed haircut; picking up a box of goodies from the Kreisses (pots, pans, Tiffany's stationery, pretty picture frames), then dinner at California Pizza Kitchen (a.k.a. CPK) and to the Prudential Center (Sephora, Banana, Express ($8 tops!!))... home to change and rest up for the housewarming party at 1111 Boylston... fun group of people (I met a guy who grew up in the Dolph - small world), many Dirty Girl Scouts, some Nati beer and Summer Brew (really like this drink) and finally a Babson boy worth my while...

Sunday - breakfast and some t.v. before heading into work for a few hours... then home for dinner (leftovers from last night followed by dessert from Modern) and out for trivia in which our team took second place (the best we have done so far)...

Quick update before I forget what I did last week...

Monday - Out for dinner and drinks with Sean (really cool guy friend from work) at McCormick and Schmick's in Faneuil Hall. The burger was $1.95 (they have a discounted menu from 4:30-6:30 Monday - Friday and from 9:30-10:30 Monday through Thursday)... but the drink prices made up the difference easily enough... then some shopping at Ann Taylor before meeting up with Jon and Thalia for trivia at the Purple Shamrock (a.k.a. P-Rock)... the questions were definitely geared toward people born before us but we're trying it again tonight... perhaps last night's luck will continue (more on that later)...

Tuesday - stayed in after work and tried to relax...

Wednesday - Red Sox game with Ellen... my dad and cousin had picked up tickets during the day and then called us to come sit by them when they saw that the people in front of them were apparently not coming... we lost that game pretty badly but Ellen and I were gamers and waited out the whole thing, cheering the team along... and we collected a bunch more holographic cups...

Thursday - Went to Wellesley... scored free wine from the alum event, ate in Beebe, saw Paul, saw some '07 friends, helped Lixxxy with her med school app essay, then got a fabulous ride home from the ever-generous Ellen

The weekend shall be posted later...

History is fun to watch...

Last night I was really more in the mood to put on some comfy clothes and sit and watch all of the season premieres... but my dad had tickets to the Red Sox game... ao I went with my parents and my cousin Jordan... and I witnessed a historical Red Sox moment that surpassed the greatness that may or may not have been the season premieres of The Office, Grey's Anatomy, and 6 Degrees:

On the first pitch he saw, David Ortiz hit a record-breaking 51st homerun of the season. He broke a 68(!) year record of home runs by an individual Red Sox player in an individual season previously set by Jimmi Foxx in 1938 with 50 homeruns. And for those who may have missed it because they were late to the game or if anyone just wasn't sure... he hit ANOTHER ONE later to set the record bar just a little bit higher... there was so much love from his teammates and the fans... he got standing ovations both times... it was fabulous... and I collected three more holographic (and now historic) cups from people who left them behind... I got two and my cousin kindly searched on his way down and found one for me... now I just need to disinfect those and bring the cups from home...

Almost time to work... but hey, it is finally Friday!

If anyone wants to play tonight at a bar or two or twelve, give me a call... it is going to be (hopefully) a roomie and friends bonding night... the guest list is already at 5...

Nostalgia

So today at lunch a few of the other case assistants and I spent a glorious hour (andahalfbutnoonemissedussoitisokaytotakealonglunch)sitting in Post Office Square Park (Erin, think pretty people at lunch...) (by the way they have green seat cushions so you can sit comfortably on the grass!!!) and a few of them started talking about drinking nasty beer and all that and it has come up a time or two and the past and I feel awkward because I have nothing to contribute as I cannot relate... but I do not regret anything or wish for the experience of weekend hangovers from cheap beer...

I simply have the most incredible friends. Period. No contest. When I am with them, I have a great time whether it be a December tropical-themed dance party in a dorm room followed by running through the snow in a bikini and a denim skirt... or sitting on a bench surrounded by pigeons and tourists and statues eating Chinese food and discussing whatever crosses our minds... or trekking across campus, stopping at Schneider on the way to get a large Coke, to watch Law and Order... or chasing them around a room to switch lights off because, No, it is NOT bedtime... or doing lip-sync practices for weeks and hours and such... my friends = fun (among other wonderful things)...

Hell, I usually desire alcohol in social situations when I don't know the people very well...

... anyway, just wanted to share some friendly love...
